Willie Creek Pearl Farm
Hours: Office Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Willie Creek Pearls is owned and operated by the Banfield Family. The Banfield family moved to Broome in 1989, when Lord McAlpine was developing the town. They purchased Broome Buslines, and successfully developed it into a tour company offering coach tours throughout the Kimberley. After operating tours to Willie Creek, they acquired the Pearl Farm.
Since then they have expanded operations to include commercial pearling, The Zookeepers Store at Cable Beach, historical Pearl Luggers, and Discover Broome. Through these operations, they deliver an entertaining, memorable and complete pearl experience, providing an insight into the home and story behind the Pearl of Western Australia.
Located just 38 kilometers north of Broome, the Willie Creek Pearl Farm is perfectly situated on the scenic and protected tidal estuary of Willie Creek.
Our award winning tour will provide you with unique insights into the modern cultured pearling industry, from the seeding of an oyster to the harvesting and grading of a pearl, right through to the final stunning product on display in the showroom.
With the opportunity to cruise the spectacular azure waters of Willie Creek to see oyster panels suspended in their natural environment, and view huge barramundi and a range of other sea creatures in our aquaculture display, there is no shortage of things to do. For those seeking a little more exhilaration, take to the skies and experience the region from a different angle on our scenic helicopter flights. There is also the option to relax and enjoy the stunning views over a delicious lunch from our restaurant.
Transport to Willie Creek Pearl Farm is available by air-conditioned coach, self drive or helicopter.
